Your Donations at Work:
- Annual treatment of hemlock trees against Woolly Adelgid ($5,000 annually, per arborist assessment)
- Pond cleaning ($5,000 annually)
- Moat cleaning ($5,000 every 5 years)
- Aerator fountain installation to increase water movement and reduce mosquito larvae ($10,000 – 2017)
- Aerator fountain upgrades ($6,800 – 2022, 2023)
- New well pump to introduce fresh ground water into pond during drought and upgrade to pump’s conduit lines ($7,000 – 2016, 2021)
- University of Pennsylvania health assessment and inventory of the Park’s trees, future tree management plan and recommendations ($5,550 – 2011)
Remembering Paul Meyer
On Tuesday, October 10, 2023 our dear friend and revered Pastorius Park restoration advisor, Paul Meyer (retired Director of Morris Arboretum), passed away.
To honor Paul and further his strategic vision for Pastorius Park, FoPP is dedicating our next restoration project in the park’s NE Woods as a memorial to Paul’s passion for our park. Habitat restoration, as well as storm water and erosion mitigation, was near and dear to Paul.
Please help us realize Paul’s vision and complete this significant restoration effort by making a gift to FoPP in his honor.
